There are many walking and cycle routes throughout the North York Moors National Park, from right here at The Inn on The Moor. We are lucky to have a great staff team with lots of knowledge and insider tips about the local area. We also have a great information hub with OS Maps, guidebooks and much more.

As others have commented, we were bowled over by the warm and friendly reception. Every staff member worked really hard to make our stay enjoyable - and it was just that. We had two meals and various beers and wines - all excellent. A great location for easy visits to little gems such as Staithes, Runswick Bay and Whitby as well as the location of the Inn itself - the famous Goathland. We will definitely be back!

The Inn on the Moor is lovely, dog friendly and the owners have thought about the dog friendly aspect making sure dogs can join their owners for breakfast and even provide bowls for the dogs so they can breakfast too. Spectacular location, a nearby heritage railway and a fantastic starting point to many a walk with plenty of things to see nearby. The staff were courteous and welcoming. The lounge had a large open fire roaring away to warm a walker coming in from the cold. They have thought about dealing with Covid 19 with full table service for evening drinks etc. The only reason I've given it four stars and not five is the vegetarian options for evening meal, a little lacklustre meaning we went elsewhere with better choices. I would certainly go again and will keep it in mind should we get a dog again.
